MILLI KOCH A.K.A. SWEETCHUQS

(b. 1996, Raleigh, North Carolina) is a self-taught contemporary painter working primarily in her preferred medium of oil paint. Her practice is grounded in the exploration of human connection, duality, and identity in the age of disconnection. She currently works out of her home studio in Los Angeles, drawing much of her daily inspiration from the local surroundings.

I make art for the rats, the space cadets, the crooked-nosed, the hopeful,
for the unemployed, the protesting, the locals, the transplants,
for the addicted, the flirtatious, the doubtful, the fed-up,
and for the people who lie down in the shower and let the water drown
out the sound of the music.

And if you find solace in my work, I make my art for you.
